In the late 1970s, township enterprises emerged with the pace of reform and opening up. At that time, decision-makers in the Hangu area of Tianjin, taking into account the stable supply of raw materials such as steel, as well as the good development foundation of the surrounding petrochemical and automotive industries, ultimately focused their attention on a seemingly insignificant product - the iron sheet hoop bucket. In 1980, Tianjin Datian Barrel Factory was officially registered and established, focusing on the production of 100 liter specification iron barrels, opening up the entrepreneurial path of "one piece of iron sheet".
After experiencing the difficult exploration from scratch, the company underwent a leadership team adjustment in 1993 and began a series of reforms. Firstly, we vigorously carried out technological transformation and developed five new varieties ranging from 20 liters to 100 liters; Continuing to actively expand the industrial chain, we have successively launched packaging product factories and welded pipe special-shaped material factories, continuously expanding our market share. In four years, the company has increased from producing only 2 products and 7 varieties to 21 products and over 60 varieties, achieving a qualitative breakthrough.
In 2000, with the reform of township enterprises, the enterprise was converted to private ownership and officially renamed Tianjin Datian Packaging Container Co., Ltd. in 2002. After decades of development, the company has now established multiple subsidiaries in Tianjin, Yingkou, Dongguan, Taicang, Zhongshan, Dongying, and Malaysia, with 7 advanced 210 liter steel barrel production lines and an annual production capacity of over 7 million 210 liter steel barrels. It has become a leading enterprise in the domestic production of steel barrels.
It is worth noting that the barrel hoop, as a key supporting component of steel barrels, has been continuously upgraded with the development of the packaging barrel industry. From the initial simple mechanical forging of iron barrel hoops to the high-precision barrel hoop products produced by fully automated production today, the entire industry has witnessed the transformation process of Chinese manufacturing from extensive to refined. There are currently 50 industrial enterprises in the jurisdiction of Hangu Street, including 24 enterprises that use steel as raw material, mainly involved in the production of packaging iron drums and automobile parts manufacturing.
